Old Strodian's Lodge 7803
Why Old Strodian's?
Why take the next step with us?
Old Strodian's Lodge is a freemasonry lodge located in Chertsey, Surrey, UK. We are under warrant from the United Grand Lodge of England and aim to attract local individuals to join our lodge. We have 32 members in our lodge, from a wide range of backgrounds and a wide range of ages.
Our youngest member is 31.
Freemasonry is not easily explained; we meet four times a year, to initiate, pass or raise joining members, and meet for a festive board after each meeting. Freemasonry helps good men become better, and our work is to fundraise from within the help local charities such as White Lodge, Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance, and many others.
We only will expect what you are comfortable with providing - either donations, work in the lodge, or time you can spend. We expect regular commitments for practice of the work, but this is generally once a week for a few hours. We have good contact with local lodges, with many members also being members of the Holy Royal Arch. Many brethren also visit other lodges to see their work.
Process of joining
Making contact with us is the first step, allowing you to start on your journey into Freemasonry. We are always on the lookout for new and joining members.

-
Make contact with the Lodge
When you make contact, we will come back to you with some information about the lodge.
-
Informal chat
Either face to face or via telephone, one of our members will have a chat to see if we are for you. This will help us understand if you truly would fit with us, or if we could suggest another lodge that may be closer, or may suit your interests and needs better.
-
Invitation to a social event
Times permitting, we will invite you along to a social evening, in the local area. Perhaps the Crown, a Curry or Caspari's.
-
Planning taking the first step
From here, we can plan your initiation into freemasonry, and the timescales for this. Don't worry - you'll still be invited to regular social events on the approach to you joining.

When you join, we expect a good level of commitment to attend regular practice evenings, which are held each Tuesday evening in a casual and supportive manner, but there will be little requirement in the first few years, unless you so wish to learn ritual, or undertake a part in the ceremony.

There are subscription fees each year which are payable to the United Grand Lodge of England, and then dining fees for four, three course meals at Ashford Manor Golf Club and includes wine. These are approximately £400 per year.
